Nomadic dwellings consist mainly of tent structures that are light, durable, easily transportable and easily assembled. These dwellings are owned, constructed and operated by women, although the wooden tent posts are usually carved by male blacksmiths. This carving is an example of a tent post that was used as a stake to hold the tent fabric or stretched hide down to the desert floor in the interior of the tent at one of the two entrances.
